M Shed was originally a 1950s transit shed on Bristol’s wharf now transformed into a museum. Tyntesfield

At its core, Tyntesfield is a Victorian-era country estate which serves as the background to the incredible story of the Gibbs family over a 400 year period. They accumulated wealth in the guano trade, transformed a Georgian house to a gothic masterpiece and collected over 50,000 objects. The achievements of this great family is marked through flower-filled terraces, lavish Gothic carvings and a huge estate in the Somerset countryside. Children who are visiting will have fun exploring three play areas that includes a sculpture trail and woodland adventure.

University of Bristol Botanical Garden

The botanical garden at the University of Bristol is known for its unique diversity of plants not found anywhere in Bristol. The 5-acre garden cultivates 4,500 different species of plant from over 200 plant families. Special showcase at the Garden feature rare south West threatened plants, The Mediterranean collection, Western and Chinese medicinal herb gardens and an evolutionary dell with favourite plants of prehistoric animals such as tree ferns, cycads, Wollemi Pine and ginkgos.
